Troops Defuse Terrorists’ Explosives On Zamfara Road

Troops of Operation Fansan Yamma have neutralised two explosive devices planted by suspected terrorists along the Magami–Hannutara–Dansadau road in Maru Local Government Area of Zamfara State.

The operation followed credible intelligence about explosives planted along the route, prompting troops attached to Sector 2 to secure the area and conduct a thorough search.

According to security analyst Zagazola Makama, the troops discovered two locations where the explosives had been planted and deployed an Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) team to handle them.

The team destroyed one device and safely recovered and rendered the other harmless, averting a potential tragedy involving motorists and other road users.

Following the operation, troops intensified patrols and surveillance along the route to protect commuters, secure nearby communities and prevent further threats.

Operation Fansan Yamma urged members of the public to remain vigilant and promptly report suspicious objects or activities to the nearest security agency.

The operation also emphasised the importance of public cooperation in supporting ongoing efforts to maintain peace and security in the area.
