Police Apprehend Three Suspected Serial Kidnappers In Illorin

Three suspected serial kidnappers were arrested on Friday by security operatives of the Ilorin South Local Government Council in Kwara state.

The suspects have long terrorized residents and commuters along the Idofian Road axis in the local government.

The arrest took place in the early hours of Friday at Abelu, a known hideout where the criminals were believed to have been operating from.

It was learnt that acting on credible intelligence, the local government’s security team swiftly mobilized and raided the location, leading to the arrest of the suspects.

The suspects were found with a bicycle, which they have been using as a deceptive tool to aid their criminal activities posing as innocent cyclists to avoid suspicion while monitoring and executing their abductions.

The Executive Chairman of Ilorin South Local Government Council, Nuhu Majeed Podo, commended the bravery and efficiency of the security task force, reaffirming his administration’s unwavering commitment to the safety and security of all residents.

“This success is a clear result of our renewed efforts in supporting local security architecture and encouraging community vigilance.

“We will not relent until Ilorin South is free from criminal elements,” he declared.

The suspects are currently in custody and undergoing further interrogation.

The chairman urged residents to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities in their communities as the council intensifies its security efforts across all zones.
