Kidnappers abandon ransom, weapons after crash in Nasarawa

A gang of kidnappers in Nasarawa State abandoned a ransom and cache of weapons after their escape vehicle crashed on Monday morning.

According to Zagazola Makama, the incident occurred at Angwan Mayo, along the Kokona axis, when the suspects’ Peugeot 406, laden with weapons, veered off the road shortly after having collected ransom from their victims.

Eyewitnesses said the criminals fled the scene, leaving the ransom and their weapons.

Afterward, troops of the Nigerian Army secured the vehicle and recovered the abandoned items, while security forces have initiated a manhunt.
