Police Bust Criminal Hideouts, Arrest 13 Drug Dealers In Jigawa

The police in Jigawa State have raided several criminal hideouts, leading to the arrest of 13 suspected drug dealers.

Spokesman of the Jigawa Police Command, SP. Shiisu Lawan Adam confirmed the arrest in a statement on Monday.

He said the arrests followed a series of coordinated raids on criminals’ hideouts and black spots across the state between 2nd and 6th September, 2025.


According to him, the operations were carried out by teams of policemen drawn from Dutse, Guri, Birnin Kudu, Bamaina, Babura and Roni divisions, acting on credible intelligence regarding the activities of drug dealers and other miscreants disturbing public peace.

“During the raids, thirteen (13) suspected drug dealers/barons were arrested and 704 Pieces of Exol tablets, 264 tramadol, 03 Diazepam, 2,042 D5, and four blocks of Indian hemp were recovered from the suspects.”

He said the suspects will be charged to court after completion of a discreet investigation.

The state Commissioner of Police, CP Dahiru Muhammad, reiterated the Command’s commitment towards the protection of lives and properties of citizens.

The CP warned all criminal elements to either desist from their unlawful activities or face the full wrath of the law.

He also called on members of the public to continue providing credible and timely information to the police to enable proactive responses.
