Troops kill four suspected robbers on Jos–Bauchi highway, recover weapons

Troops on routine patrol have killed four suspected armed robbers during a gun battle along the Jos–Bauchi highway, recovering arms and ammunition from them.

Security analyst Zagazola Makama disclosed this in a post on Wednesday, saying the operation was based on credible information about a robbery incident involving criminals who had been terrorising travellers in the area.

According to him, the soldiers quickly mobilised to the scene and engaged the suspects in a fierce shootout.

“In the exchange of fire, four suspects were neutralised and arms and ammunition were recovered,” Makama said.

He added that the swift response of the troops restored calm and safety along the busy Jos–Bauchi road.
