Police Apprehend Suspected Bag Snatcher Via Social Media Post

A social media post has led police operatives to a suspected bag snatcher in Adamawa State.

The matter got into the open when one Jennifer Emmanuel, using her face book account, alerted the public to a certain Keke NAPEP operator who allegedly seized her purse from her.

Her post reads, “If you see any keke man with this plate number, he is a criminal. He snatched my purse with over 100k inside and ran away. Luckily I snapped his plate number. Please, help me.”

Although the Keke NAPEP was registered in the northern Adamawa town of Mubi, it is operated as a commercial tricycle in Girei, near Yola.

The Adamawa State Command of the Nigeria Police which is handling the matter, explained in a statement that sequel to Jennifer Emmanuel’s social media post, the command’s operatives attached to the State Intelligence Department, SID, responded and arrested the suspect.

The statement, signed by the state Police Public Relations Officer, SP Suleiman Nguroje, said investigation into the matter is ongoing, after which the suspect will be taken to court.
