Three Suspected Kidnappers Neutralised By Police In Niger

Niger State Police Command’s Special Task Team (STT) has neutralized three suspected kidnappers in a clearance operation conducted in the Kokolo forest via Kawo-Auna village, Nasko Magama Local Government Area of the state.

The command through the Public Relations Officer, SP Wasiu Abiodun made this disclosure in a statement in Minna.

He revealed that the operation was carried out in collaboration with vigilante members, based on credible intelligence on12th September, 2025 at about 6.30am.


According to him, “During this operation, which took place in the early hours of the day, the team stormed the forest, encountered the hoodlums and engaged them in a gun battle.

“Fortunately, three among the suspected kidnappers were neutralised and others escaped into the forest with gunshot injuries, while a victim was rescued”.

In the process of combing the hideout, he explained that two AK-74 rifles, with forty-nine ammunition were recovered from the hideout.

The PPRO disclosed that further investigation was ongoing to arrest the fleeing members of the gang.

“Members of the public, most especially neighbouring villages are hereby urged to quickly inform the Police and other security agencies, if anyone is found around with gunshot injuries,” he further stated.
