Troops arrest Nigerian soldier, police personnel smuggling arms to terrorists

Troops of the 17 Brigade, Operation FANSAN YAMMAN, in collaboration with the Katsina State Community Watch Corps, KSCWC, have arrested two suspected terrorist collaborators in Kankara Local Government Area of Katsina State.

According to a post on Monday by security analyst Zagazola via his X handle, the suspects were identified as Aminu Rabiu Zango, 52, a logistics supplier, and Alhaji Abdulrahman Tambaya, 52, alleged to be a terrorist informant.

Rabiu reportedly confessed that his son supplies weapons and ammunition to a notorious terrorist kingpin, Babaru, and had recently relocated to Karu, Abuja. He also admitted to working for Alhaji Iliya Zango, described as Babaru’s superior.

Tambaya was said to have been found in possession of one of Babaru’s active phone numbers on his handset.

Sources added that another suspected logistics supplier, identified as Ado Dan Zaria, escaped by scaling the fence of his residence when troops stormed his home. His house was later searched and destroyed.
