NSCDC nabs 2 suspects for motorcycle theft, drug peddling in Kano

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) Kano State Command, has arrested two suspects for alleged crimes in Kumbotso Local Government Area.

The Command’s spokesperson, Ibrahim Abdullahi, said one of the suspects, Usman Abdulhamid, aged 19, from Yankanko, Panshekara, was apprehended for stealing a motorcycle in the Sabuwar Jiddah area.

“The second suspect, Salisu Abdullahi, 28, from Samegu, was arrested at Sabon Titin Dorayi with several boxes of hard drugs, including Paxol, Pregabalin, Diazepam, and other stimulants.” Abdullahi added.

Abdulhamid allegedly admitted belonging to a gang that specializes in motorcycle theft within Kano.

Four stolen motorbikes were recovered from Abdulhamid, (three Jincheng and one Lifan), while two other suspects are at large.

NSCDC confirmed that the arrests are part of efforts to reduce crime and protect members of the public from threats to public safety.

The two suspects are still in custody while investigation continues. They will be charged to court upon completion.
