Troops neutralize Boko Haram fighters, destroy hideouts in Borno

Troops of Operation Hadin Kai have carried out a successful offensive against Boko Haram terrorists in the Bula Daloye cluster of Borno State, destroying hideouts and recovering several weapons.

According to counter-insurgency expert Zagazola Makama, who shared details of the operation on his X handle on Friday, the raid was conducted around 5:00 p.m. on 18 November 2025 by personnel of the 21 special armoured battalion.

Makama said the troops first arrived at an initial target location where the terrorists fled upon sighting the advancing forces. The soldiers then pushed further into a second site within the cluster, combing a three-kilometre radius that showed clear signs of terrorist activity.

“The troops engaged the terrorists in a fire fight and neutralized some of them while others fled. The troops further destroyed all identified structures used by the terrorists.” He wrote. “During the operation, one military vehicle reportedly triggered an improvised explosive device (IED), resulting in injuries to two hybrid force personnel. They were stabilised on-site by medical staff. There were no fatalities reported among the troops.”

Recovered were five AK-47 rifles, six magazines, 67 rounds of 7.62x39mm ammunition, two motorcycles, a Dane gun and a bicycle. An explosive ordnance disposal team also found and safely detonated four additional IEDs.
