Suspected kidnappers have reportedly attacked Zalau village in Toro Local Government Area of Bauchi State, killing one Muhammad Bakoshi, an Islamic cleric and Discipline Officer of Jama’atu Izalatil Bid’ah Wa Iqamatus Sunnah, JIBWIS, Zalau.
The armed bandits, whose number could not be confirmed were said to have stormed the cleric’s home on November 22,2025.
He was killed in the ensuing attack, his wife, who had just giving was abducted.
A resident of the community said that the incident has left the villagers in fear and grief, adding that the community is praying for the safe return of the abducted woman and for strength for the family during this difficult time.
“Bandits and kidnappers in Nigeria do not target only Christians. These criminals go after anyone they see as vulnerable, regardless of religion. We should focus on safety and unity, not let faith divide us.” he said.
