The Kaduna State Police Command has recovered a sack containing 210 rounds of 7.56mm ammunition along the Zaria-Funtua Highway.
A statement by DSP Mansir Hassan Police Public Relations Officer of Kaduna state command revealed that the police got a tip from the public that a black Volkswagen Golf had suspiciously thrown a sack out of a moving vehicle at Dogo Itace, Samaru, Zaria.
“The patrol team swiftly moved to the scene and found the abandoned sack on the ground. The DPO alerted the other DPO’s along the road up to Funtua , for possible arrest of the vehicle and the occupants but to no avail due to the delay in information. ”
Kaduna’s Police Commissioner, Rabiu Muhammad urged residents to stay at alert and report any suspicious activity.
He said a manhunt for the suspects is ongoing and warned criminals to stay out of the state or face the law.
