Hoodlums Attacks DPO’s Residence, Kill Police Officer In Jigawa

Hoodlums reportedly attacked Police Divisional Officer’s residence and killed a police officer in Sujata town, Jahun Local Government, Jigawa State.‎

Findings revealed that the attackers raided the residence on Monday midnight and attacked officers on duty, leading to the death of Police Constable, Nura Garba Jahun, while another sustained serious injuries.

After the attack, the victims were rushed to Jahun General Hospital and one officer was confirmed dead by a medical doctor and the other was reviewing treatment.

The deceased’s father, Malam Garba Jahun, confirmed the incident and said his body had since been buried according to Islamic rites.‎

‎According to him, “We don’t know the reason for the attack, we are not briefed and the police authority did not tell me anything.”

Spokesman of the Jigawa State Police Command, SP Lawan Shi’isu Adam, said he was not yet briefed on the incident.

He promised to brief the press after receiving details of the incident.
