Police Officer Dies During Meeting In Ebonyi

An officer with the Ebonyi State Police Command, Ogbon-inu Taiwo, has died after some breathing difficulties during a meeting.

Police authorities in Ebonyi State confirmed the incident.

Taiwo died on Wednesday during a management meeting at the commissioner of police’s office, in Abakaliki.

According to sources, the senior officer developed breathing difficulties and began gasping for breath during the meeting around 10:30 a.m.

He was rushed to Police medical centre at the Police headquarters, Abakaliki where he was promptly attended to by Command’s medical personnel.

Despite efforts to resuscitate him, the officer was confirmed dead.

The Police Public Relations Officer of the Ebonyi Command, Joshua Ukandu, said the Taiwo was a dedicated officer who served the Force with commitment and professionalism.

Until his demise, the officer was the Assistant Commissioner of Police in charge of the State Intelligence Department (SID).

The command commiserates with the family of our departed officer on this irreparable loss, Ukandu said.
