Edo State Government has confirmed the arrest of the founder of Rollo Life of Christ Brethren Ministry, Bishop Gideon Osazee, over allegations of sexual abuse involving two biological sisters who are minors.
It was gathered that the two girls are aged 13 and 17.
Authorities disclosed that, beyond the sisters, four other young females have also come forward with similar allegations against the cleric.
Osazee was taken into custody by officials of the state government following days of surveillance aimed at effecting his arrest.
Speaking on the development, the Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development, Eugene Abdullah, said additional children associated with the church had reported experiences of sexual harassment allegedly linked to the suspect.
Also commenting on the case, Faith Edebor of the Vivian Sexual Assault Referral Centre said preliminary findings from investigators corroborated key aspects of the victims’ accounts.
Bishop Osazee, however, denied the allegations, stating that while he had no involvement with minors, he had a consensual relationship with the older of the two sisters.
Investigations into the matter are ongoing, as authorities continue to gather statements and evidence related to the allegations.
