Katsina CP presents N32.3m to families of fallen officers

The Commissioner of Police, Katsina State Command, Mr Bello Shehu, on Saturday presented cheques amounting to N32.3 million to families of six deceased officers who died in active service.

Presenting the cheques to the beneficiaries in Katsina, Shehu said the gesture was under the Group Life Assurance and Group Personal Accident scheme aimed at bringing succour to the families of the deceased officers.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the CP was represented by the Deputy Commissioner of Police, Department of Finance and Administration, DCP Aminu Usman-Gusau.

He appreciated the Acting Inspector General of Police, Olatunji Disu, for his magnanimity towards the families of the deceased police officers, who paid the supreme price while in active service to the nation.

The CP then called on the beneficiaries to make judicious use of the money so as to meet the objective of the scheme.
Shehu prayed for the repose of the departed souls.

Responding on behalf of the beneficiaries, Hamza Surajo, thanked the acting IGP for what he described as a kind gesture and promised to make good use of the money for the betterment of their lives.

He prayed for God’s guidance to the leadership of the command and the Police Force in general.
