Suspected victim of “one chance” robbers rescued in Abuja

A suspected victim of “one chance” criminals has been rescued in the Central Area of Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory.

The incident occurred on Sunday morning, March 8, 2026 along the road near Coscharis Motors.

The victim, Alhaji Haruna Usman, a cattle trader hails from Adamawa State, said he was travelling in connection with the transportation of 36 cows that were to be conveyed by a trailer from Adamawa to Bayelsa.

He explained that he first boarded a small vehicle from Jambutu in Adamawa to Zuba before later taking another vehicle heading to Maraba at about 7:30 a.m. to take a car from there to Bayelsa State.

Usman said he sat in the front seat while three other passengers occupied the back seat when the occupants of the vehicle suddenly turned on him and snatched his mobile phone, and cash of about N350,000.

He was rescued when some “good Samaritans”, found him and untied the cord on his neck.
