Troops Eliminate Terrorist in Zamfara, Arrest Suspected Kidnapper with AK-47 in Yobe

Troops of Operation HADIN KAI have arrested a suspected kidnapper and recovered an AK-47 rifle during a cordon-and-search operation in Damaturu, Yobe State

This was disclosed by security analyst Zagazola Makama via his x page on Saturday.

Security sources, speaking to Zagazola Makama, said the operation took place at about 11:30 a.m. on March 12 and was carried out in collaboration with members of the Yobe State Hunters Group.


The troops executed the operation in Sidiri Ngabarawa following credible intelligence on the presence of suspected criminal elements in the area.

During the raid, they apprehended Ahmadu Malam, 30, a resident of Southern Ngabarawa.

Recovered from the suspect was an AK-47 rifle with registration number HS3649 and an empty magazine.

Security sources confirmed that the suspect and the weapon are currently in the custody of the 233 Battalion for preliminary investigation.

Efforts are ongoing to track and apprehend other members of the suspected kidnapping syndicate believed to be operating in the area.

Military authorities stated that the operation is part of ongoing security measures under Operation HADIN KAI, aimed at dismantling criminal and insurgent networks across the North-East.
