Police Arrest Two Car Dealers, Recover Stolen Vehicle In Ogun

A private security guard in Lagos, named Obada Ezekiel, has been arrested for allegedly conspiring with two others to steal a Lexus RX 300 SUV under his watch.

According to Ogun police spokesperson, DSP Oluseyi Babaseyi, the suspects were arrested at about 11 a.m on Saturday, following a distress call and credible intelligence.

Babaseyi stated that upon receiving the tip-off operatives of the Ibafo Division tracked the suspects to a hideout within the axis, and the recovered the stolen vehicle from their possession.

He said, “The suspects include Obada Ezekiel ‘M’, a private security guard attached to the vehicle, alongside Emmanuel Timothy ‘M’ and Yaya Yakubu ‘M’.

“Preliminary investigation revealed that the security guard conspired with the two others to steal the vehicle from Lagos and move it to Ibafo for disposal.”

Babaseyi stated that the suspects are currently in custody and will be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Abeokuta, for further investigation and prosecution.

Reacting to the incident, the Ogun Commissioner of Police, CP Bode Ojajuni, commended the officers of Ibafo division for their swift response, professionalism, and effective utilization of intelligence, which according to him led to the successful arrest and recovery of the stolen vehicle.

He also appreciated members of the public for providing timely and useful information, and reiterated the command’s resolve to sustain intelligence-led policing across the state.

Ojajuni assured residents of rye command’s unwavering commitment to the protection of lives and property, urging the public to remain vigilant and report suspicious activities through the state emergency line.
