DSS, Forest Guards rescue two abducted children in Kwara, kill two suspected kidnappers

A security team comprising operatives of the Department of State Services, DSS, and forest guards on Thursday rescued two kidnap victims in a forest between Oba Isin/Owa Onire area of Isin/Ifelodun Local Government Areas of Kwara State.

The rescued victims are 16-year-old Fatima Azeez and Ibrahim Azeez who is five years old, according to reports by local authorities.

The team also eliminated two armed bandits while others escaped with severe injuries when the security forces stormed their hideouts.

The security team also recovered several items from the kidnappers, including one AK-47 rifle; one single barrel gun; one fully loaded magazine with nine empty magazines; mini-solar panel; and food items.

The rescue operation is connected to the multi-agency counter-terrorism and anti-kidnapping efforts of the government.
