The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu, psc(+), NPM, has been inducted as a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Personnel Management of Nigeria (CIPM), in recognition of his leadership, commitment to human resource development and efforts towards strengthening professionalism within the Nigeria Police Force.
The induction ceremony was held on Thursday, 24 September 2026, at the Bola Ahmed Tinubu International Conference Centre, Abuja.
The Fellowship honours IGP Disu’s contributions to people management, institutional development, professionalism and administrative excellence in the Nigeria Police Force.
Conferring the Fellowship, the President and Chairman of the Governing Council of CIPM, Mallam Ahmed Ladan Gobir, FCIPM, Fnli, described the IGP as a reform-minded leader who has demonstrated exceptional capacity in people management, institutional transformation and welfare-driven leadership.
In his acceptance remarks, IGP Disu expressed appreciation to the Institute for the recognition, noting that effective personnel management remains central to modern policing.
He reaffirmed his commitment to promoting merit, continuous capacity building, discipline and the welfare of police officers and personnel, describing these as critical pillars for building a professional and service-oriented Police Force.
The CIPM Fellowship is the highest membership cadre of the Institute and is reserved for distinguished professionals who have made significant contributions to human resource management and leadership.
The recognition adds to the growing profile of IGP Disu’s leadership and administrative engagements as he continues to pursue reforms focused on professionalism, institutional development and the welfare of personnel within the Nigeria Police Force.
