One killed, another abducted as bandits attack Katsina farming communities

Armed bandits have attacked farming communities in Tashar Mangwaro and Dogon Ruwa villages in Dutsinma Local Government Area of Katsina State, killing one person and abducting another.

According to a post on Friday by security analyst Zagazola on X, the incident occurred on Thursday at about 6:32 p.m. while residents were working on their farmlands.

One of the victims, identified as Hamza Usman, 45, from Tashar Mangwaro, was shot during the attack and later confirmed dead at the General Hospital in Dutsinma.

Another farmer, 53-year-old Tukur Nalanga of Dogon Ruwa Village, was abducted by the gunmen during the same raid.

Security operatives reportedly responded swiftly to a distress call and engaged the attackers in a gun duel, forcing them to flee. However, the assailants managed to escape with the abducted victim before reinforcements could arrive.

Efforts are currently underway to track down the fleeing bandits and rescue the kidnapped farmer.
