Hoodlums suspected to be motorcycle snatchers have killed a serving member of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) member, Shuaibu Adamu, with a hammer in Gwagwalada Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
A resident of Gwargwada, Suleiman Ibrahim, said the incident happened on Sunday night. July 13, 2025 at about 8pm behind AA Rano filling station, located along the Abuja-Lokoja highway.
He said the deceased, who was riding on a motorcycle back to his house behind the filling station, was suddenly blocked by some hoodlums who smashed his head with a hammer and zoomed off with his bike.
According to him, some neighbours who were passing by later identified him and alerted his relatives, who evacuated him to the hospital.
Ibrahim said the corps member, who a native of Abaji Area Council of the FCT, was pronounced dead by doctors at the hospital on Monday night, saying his remains were taken to Abaji and buried on Tuesday.
