Troops neutralise two bandits, recover AK-47 rifle in Plateau ambush

Troops of Operation LAFIYAN JAMA’A have neutralised two bandits and recovered weapons and ammunition during an ambush operation in Nteng general area of Qua’an Pan Local Government Area, Plateau State.

The operation was based on credible intelligence on the movement of suspected bandits within the area.

Security sources said that the troops laid a successful ambush on the suspected bandits’ route at about 7:34 p.m. on Tuesday.

“Two of the bandits were neutralised in the encounter. Troops exploited the general area and recovered one AK-47 rifle, one magazine and 24 rounds of 7.62mm (special) ammunition,” the source said.

The recovered weapons and ammunition are currently in custody for further action, while security operations have been intensified in the area.
