Police Kill Two Bandits in Zamfara Ambush

Two armed bandits have been killed in a midnight gun battle with security operatives in Mada District, Gusau Local Government Area of Zamfara State.

According to security analyst, Zagazola Makama who shared the update on X on Wednesday, the operation followed credible intelligence about a planned attack by bandits on villages in the Mada area.

Makama said that at about 3:10 a.m. on Tuesday, October 7, a joint team of police tactical operatives, community protection guards (CPG), and local hunters laid an ambush for the bandits at Fegin Mahe village along their suspected route.

He explained that three armed bandits approached the area but were engaged in a fierce exchange of gunfire by the security team.

“Two of the suspects were killed on the spot, while one managed to escape with gunshot injuries,”he said.

The Zamfara State Police Command confirmed the incident, saying efforts were ongoing to track down the fleeing suspect and ensure that peace is maintained in the area.
